When two friends pose as boyfriends, could what happens at Christmas turn into something more?
Justin is recently and unhappily single. Christmas is coming, and he doesn’t want to face his ex alone at their office party. So Sean—Justin’s best mate and long-time secret crush—volunteers to go with him and pretend to be his new flame.
Sean has always lusted after Justin from afar, but there’s never been a good opportunity to ask him for more than friendship. Posing as Justin’s boyfriend isn’t a chore, and if Justin wants to rebound onto him, Sean’s more than willing. At the party pretence and reality blur, and a kiss on the dance floor leads to a night of passion.
In the aftermath, they both assume it was a one-time thing until fate intervenes. Stuck together in London over the holidays, they give in to temptation again. But what happens at Christmas stays at Christmas... right?

I loved the subtle development of the relationship between Justin and Sean. They both have feelings for one another, but while Justin has always been out, it has been harder for Sean to do so. When he did come out, Justin was in a relationship and their timing never seemed quite right. Now that Sean's back in town and Justin is single, what starts as a favor for a friend turns into romance and love. I loved the story and getting to know both Sean and Justin.Product details

What Happens at Christmas edition by Jay Northcote Romance eBooks Reviews
There are so many troupes here I love-friends to lovers, childhood friends, pretend relationship.
This is a joyful Christmas read with a great and sexy relationship between the heroes.
This is a happy read!
Wow! This love story was so good that I had tears in my eyes at the end. I had hoped for a happy ending, but was not certain it would happen! Spoiler alert - my apology, but it's just too good!
This was a good quick story. I enjoyed the small things in the book that continued to remind me they were in London. Words and phrases that we don't use here in the US. There were a couple parts that frustrated me...I hate when it doesn't make sense to me why they just don't talk to each other but I guess that is what kept me going. ) "This doesn't feel like pretending anymore" Favorite line!
Thanks
Usually I LOVE Jay Northcote books but this one was just ok. I don't know why but I think it's because I just could create a mental picture of Sean. Justin, I pictured as a thin, dramatic guy but I just couldn't get a clear picture of the two of them. Also, I didn't feel the chemistry between Justin and Sean. This is most surprising since I love the friends-to-lovers trope. If it were a little longer with some bonding moments I could've given it 5 stars.
A wonderful Christmas romance! Set in London, no less. Awesome ... the only thing missing was the roasted chestnuts. But there were, erm, plenty of the other sort on offer.
I love romance where two long-time friends are tossed back together and shaken up with the realization of not just friendship, but love. And lust!
Northcote makes it work beautifully in this poignant romance.
Anytime I read anything by Jay I known it'll be excellent and I have to prepare myself to read straight through to the end and this little holiday gem was no exception. I loved Sean and Justin and appreciate how Jay skillfully makes the friends to lovers trope seem fresh. The sex scenes were hot but playful and the chemistry between the MCs felt very natural and real. A good holiday read, one I'm sure I'll pick up again!
What an uplifting, fun, warm, light-hearted book! I loved it. Justin and Sean are such likeable guys. Thinking back to when I was that age, all their thoughts, insecurities and feelings were totally relateable. This short story is perfect not only for Christmas, but for anytime you might need a little bit more sunshine in your day. I love Jay Northcote, she really knows how to warm your heart with very human, touching stories with very likeable characters. I'd love to read more about Sean and Justin as they move forward in their relationship. Very highly recommended for a feel-good read.
