He’s twenty-four. She’s eighteen.
His life is exactly the way he’s always wanted it to be...stable.
She’s quite possibly the very definition of unstable.

Noah saved her.
Georgina never wanted to be saved.

Growing up, Noah Clark was passed from one relative to the next until he finally ended up living with his abusive, alcoholic uncle in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Thanks in part to the unwavering love and support of his best friend, Ellie Turner, Noah survived those years, escaped his uncle, and grew into the man he is today. Now he runs his own business and lives a pretty normal, no-nonsense life—one where he maintains a high level of control.

Georgina is Ellie’s younger sister. Four months ago, Noah saved Georgie’s life, but he thought that was where his involvement with his friend’s sister would end. Now Georgie has returned home from the recovery facility her parents sent her away to and Noah, still haunted by the night that connects them, can’t stop himself from continuously trying to protect this girl he barely knows. But is he willing to give up all of the control he’s worked so hard to build in his life and risk everything for her? Even more importantly, would she do the same for him?

Kill Devil Hills eBook Sarah Darlington

Okay, so I enjoyed this book, I like her writing style and voice, and the sexual tension is excellent. Solid hero and heroine, BUT, despite the really solid hook and opening 50% of the book, there was no real conflict. There was no black moment where I don't know how they're going to come back from it. I kept thinking 'oh, maybe this is it?' Nope...not that. 'Ahh, it MUST be this.' Nope. That's not it either. I could get a tangible sense of the characters depth, and that's not easy to do, but other than telling her parents about their relationship, there's no real obstacles for them to work through. All of that being said, I'd read one of her books again, and I'm certainly not regretting the purchase, but I just wish the last part of the book had lived up to the promise of the first part.

This is my first book by Sarah Darlington and it wont be my last. I truly loved this story, I loved how well the story was written. I also loved how I was connected with the characters. I loved how well the characters were developed. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
In our darkest moments, we can lose sight of the light, hope and love that surrounds us. For some, a great loss, heartbreak and grief can tear and rip our life apart. At that moment, we can either give up, let go, or just carry on the burden. But what if, you are not strong enough to live? Who will save you?

In Kill Devil Hills by Sarah Darlington, loss, heartbreak, grief, death, hope, love, and a second chance at life are all explored. Ms. Darlington goes in depth with a sensitive subject of suicide but allows readers to see that the beauty of tomorrow is the chance of a second chance. A second chance for happiness. A second chance to love. And most importantly a second chance to LIVE.

Right off the bat, Ms. Darlington hit you with such an emotional gripping scene that affects Noah and Georgina. That night will forever be engrained with them. It not only changed them but also the lives of Georgina’s family. Fast forward to four months later, Georgina returns back home. This time she’s at a place in her life where she is beginning to heal and find closure. What Georgina didn’t expect was to fall in love with the man who saved her.

Noah is 24. Georgina is 18. Noah is her older sister’s best friend. The Turner family always have welcomed Noah into their family. Practically he was family. So what happens when Noah and Georgina finds solace, peace, and love in each other? Noah saved Georgina one time, will he be able to heal her broken heart and piece back all the brokenness?

Kill Devil Hills is one of those stories that kept me finishing this book in one sitting. It was sweet, beautiful, and touching. Our scars may not all be physical but emotional. Emotional scars are sometimes the deepest scars that cannot be seen. The beauty of Kill Devil Hills was that love heals. It had all the feels that made me enjoyed this book. I will definitely be looking forward to more works from Sarah Darlington.
This book first intrigued me by the title alone; I’m from NC and recently visited the area. After reading the synopsis I realized this was a definite one-click, it sounded so good, full of promise. And after first starting the book I felt the same. The very first chapter had me hooked and curious about Georgie and Noah. Unfortunately, this book didn’t keep me hooked very long. Granted I read it in one sitting, it was fairly short, but I didn’t stay invested in the characters. It didn’t delve as deep into their problems as I had anticipated. I wanted to feel more for both Noah and Georgie. Kill Devil Hills ended up being much lighter than I anticipated (it still deals with very serious topics, they just aren't very explored) and all the struggles were overcome way too easily for me to really connect with the story and enjoy it.
This book hits on some very tough subjects, but it does it in such an eloquent way.
Dealing with sucide is obviously hard hitting and isbgoing to be tough, but not grazing over it or making it less then it was made this story so much of what it was.
I can not get into words how amazing this book is in my opinion, really one of my top reads of 2018. There was so much depth and feeling coming out from the characters.

You saw how some pushed away and grazed over. How some no longer delt with this anymore. You also saw how some over reacted and where over bearing. Along with the people who just wanted to be there and be apart of her life. This story was everything it should have been to discribe all the feelings.
And it dived into anorexia, OCD, Depression, etc. So amazingly.
