They also recognize that the first to market with their prototype wins. For that reason and that reason alone, the Nano Man must be eliminated at all costs. Budget no object.
Nano Man eBook Dean C Moore
Let me start by saying that I have seldom - perhaps never - encountered a writer whose depth and breadth of imagination matches Dean C. Moore's: His ability to create completely new worlds and believable alternative realities is nothing short of amazing, in my opinion. The fact that his novels are also crammed full of the information that those of us who are not scientists need to comprehend some of the mind-boggling scenarios he creates makes reading his stories all the better.'Nano Man' is, at first glance, a scary look at the future of out-of-control mega-corporations and governments that will do anything to dominate the world and its people. They are moving ever closer to the day when they will have successfully reprogrammed or replaced everyone capable of dissent and they are doing so in the way that charismatic, power-mad men and women always have: By promising people a new world in which all of their desires will be met. Moore's characterizations of some of the corporate leaders who are racing against one another to make this happen to their exclusive advantage is spot on as are his characterizations of the scientists who obligingly do their bidding in exchange for huge salaries, comfortable lives and plaques on the wall proclaiming how smart they are.
But 'Nano Man' is more than just that: It is a love story as well. Jane, a brilliant scientist, is a long jump ahead of her colleagues when it comes to creating next generation nanites than can turn even ordinary men and women into super beings. Because that's true, she has been marked for elimination by assorted governments and corporations and she is constantly on the run. She, however, has a champion who is working hard to keep her alive even though she does not even, at first, know of his existence. Michael is that champion and they do not, at first, get along well at all. She finds him shallow; he finds her occasionally insufferable. They fall in lust long before they fall in love then go through a period when they can barely stand one another. That changes, however, and when it does some very interesting things happen to their nanite-infected bodies and minds.
Those two elements would be enough for most writers, but Moore has also packed 'Nano Man' with hair-breadth escapes, shoot-outs and hand-to-hand combat to make it an enjoyable adventure story as well.
If you like your science fiction to be something more than weird aliens and spaceships then you'll like 'Nano Man.' It is a novel full of sharp observations about the state of mankind, witty dialogue, interesting discourses on the nature of good and evil and plenty of whiz-bang science that appeals to even those of us who are still writing letters by hand using fountain pens.
I highly recommend it.

Nano Man eBook Dean C Moore Reviews
Science fiction, fantasy, Cyber punk, action adventure, intrigue, robots, androids, and cuttuing edge future technology. If any of these are your favorite types of books you are in for a treat. What happens if you develop a robot that's limits and capabilities are boundless? You will find yourself on the wrong side of the government and unscrupulous compitition that could care less if you die. Dean C. Moore's books are always on the cutting edge of technology - so accurate they might not be called Science Fiction, but future science fact - so intriguing they make your head spin - NANO MAN in my opinion is the best to date. Reader be warned, you cannot skip read this book - there are so many twists and turns you do not want to miss a single point. A page turner to the end.
When I buy a book by Dean C. Moore I know I am in for the adventure of a lifetime. Nano Man delivers that and so much more. When technology becomes too big too fast, who knows what might happen? Dean C. Moore does! We have companies fighting companies to be the first to get ahead in AI in robots, but their is something else even better for people to be investing in, human enhancement using nanobots. Now you have robots, half robots, humans and enhanced humans all in a race to more or less rule the world. I loved the characters in this book and felt by the end I knew each one personally. I love that about this author, the character development runs hand in a hand with an amazing story I couldn't put down. The author has combined science fact with science fiction in a novel that will make you wonder just how close we really are to discovering and using the technology found in the pages of this amazing story. I like the humor the author added with a bit of wry romance that makes this a story readers are going to find intriguing to say the least.
What most impressed me about this book was its breath taking originality - there was nothing tired or hackneyed in his settings or characters, and the author’s imagination – which appears to follow the current trajectory of science to its outer plausible limit – is astonishing and fascinating to read, if not completely alarming!
What made this book all the more satisfying for me is that the author is a master of the writing craft, and has created depth of character, a narrative and dialogues I would only expect to find in the best contemporary literary novels. I particularly liked the snappy dialogue, peppered with one liners, and the author’s voice reminded me of the dialogue and narration of Sin City, one of my favourite movies.
At times the book was a sensory overload for me, but in a good way – so many insights into current and future science and robotics, and into the spectre of DNA Nano engineering as it unfolds to its ultimate conclusion.
Mix in corporate greed, government oppression, and good old fashioned sexual chemistry, and this makes for a truly excellent book, one that I will be thinking about for quite some time.
