4.5 StarsPulse began six months after the end of Beat. Ren has been training like crazy since Ash left and is moving up in the AWUFC. She’s continued to fight in the underground and was doing well there as well. Whilst she was training at her father’s gym, she’s approached by a woman and her life is turned upside down. She not only knows where Ash is but wants Ren to help him live again.
I loved seeing more growth in Ren throughout Pulse. She had worked through a lot of her anger and channelled it into her fighting. She took her time to face Ash again, and even then was hesitant because he already broke her heart once.
Even Ash's anger was more focused in this book. He knew what he lost already and once he had Ren back was determined to keep her forever. But when his problems from the past returned, he needed to choose between keeping her safe forever, or to just keep Ren.
I love the bond Ash and Ren have with one another. They seem to complement one another and are better people together. They have a lot in common and their passion for each other continued soar.
I enjoyed seeing more of the secondary characters and the potential relationships forming throughout Pulse. I loved seeing more of Josie, the twins and another fighter, Hamish (I do love the Irish!). The relationship between Ren and her father was better too. He was there whenever Ren needed him and backed her with every decision she made.
Pulse was the perfect wrap up for Ren and Ash's story. They worked through some difficult issues and came out better in the end. I'm looking forward to more stories from this world, and I noticed that we'll revisit this couple again!! I have thoroughly enjoyed Amity Cross’s writing style, the action, the characters and the way she hooks me into her world’s!

Pulse #2 The Beat and The Pulse edition by Amity Cross Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
So if you've read the first book, which I would hope you have if you're getting this book, you know that Ren and Ash are totally hot, and steamy, and like to get sweaty together. Let's just say this book takes all of those to the next level. If Beat left you with the urge to take a cold shower or two, then expect Pulse to leave you with an urge to go swim in the Arctic! Amity has definitely scored another awesome story with this and I can't wait to see what comes next for all of these characters!
I have read stories that make a person cry, laugh hysterically or make you feel sexy, desirable or just plan happy; however, I have not read a story with this much passion and with such deep intensive writings and I find this intensively amazing! This is a series that I will highly recommend to others. On to book 3. Five kudos to Ms. Cross*****
Book 2 in The Beat and the Pulse series
What a great second book in a series. Gives you answers to questions in the first book and so much more. Just when you think Ren is recovering and getting on with her life, someone she does not know, but someone who knows all about her, comes to the club. More secrets are uncovered about Ash and Monica may not be about to keep her secrets for much longer. Add in the twins and Josie, and you have a book full of surprises.
Another great book from Amity Cross.
I just finished the first book in this series only to immediately purchase and read through this second book. Pulse was better than the first. This author knows not only how to grad your attention but to keep it and bring you along for the ride. All I can say is this book is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to read number three.
This series will hold you hostage with the love and pain that finally brings these two fighters together. A past that is violent and a crime committed again someone he loves has made Ash Fuller into an animal in the cage. Ren has had a tough time in her past and her rage makes
her a brilliant fighter. Between the two of them is the need for revenge. Will it end in a fatal blow? Read on, and find out.
Amity has a knack for writing a heart stopping story that keeps you up reading all night. Rock on!!
Ms. Cross have proven, again, that she is a great author and storyteller! I loved the first book, BEAT. In that we were introduced to Ash and Ren. Two gifted but broken fighters, with a lot of sexual chemistry. In PULSE, Ms Cross gets into the minds and hearts of these two and answers a lot of questions I had as to how and why they ended up living and thriving in such a violent world. Their love story is compelling....and very erotic! I loved it. Can't wait for Ms. Cross to take me on another fantastic, erotic journey.
Pulse picks up where Beat left off, only 6 months later. Ren is heartbroken so she does what she aways does. Survives. She takes the beast that Ash woke up in her and uses it to become a top qualifier for the women's AUFC. She's struggling to let Ash go. He left her, right? She should move on but she can't.
Ash does what he has to do to protect those that he loves. Being away from Ren has broken his beast and his heart. He is simply broken.
A stranger shows up at Beat and completely turns Ren's world upside down. She gets news of what happened 6 months ago when Ash left her. She has to make a decision. Ignore the fact that she now knows what happens and where Ash is or go to him and take a chance on her heart yet again. So she fights. That's who she is. This is where we really start to see the building love between Ash and Ren.
The rest of the story has goals, plans, twists, fate, etc. I don't want to give anything away. All I can say is that Ash and Ren do what they both know best. Fight. Survive. A great conclusion to their challenging yet loving story.
